Arriving in Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) has changed significantly. The days of long, winding queues are being replaced by a streamlined digital process. New autogates, a mandatory e-Visa on Arrival (e-VOA), and a set of QR codes are now the keys to a fast and smooth entry.
Based on the latest 2025 regulations, this is your complete, step-by-step guide to bypassing the lines and starting your holiday faster.
Your 3 Essential Pre-Flight Tasks: The “Bali QR Code Trifecta”
To have the fastest possible arrival, you must prepare three things before you fly. Each of these will generate a QR code. Save all three to your phone’s wallet or as screenshots.
- e-Visa on Arrival (e-VOA): This is your key to the fast-track autogates.
- Bali Tourism Levy: The mandatory IDR 150,000 payment.
- “All Indonesia” Arrival Card: The new digital customs and immigration form.
1. The e-Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) & New Autogates (The Real “Fast Track”)
This is the single most important step to skip the queues. The new electronic gates (e-Gates or autogates) at Bali’s airport are the new fast track, and they are only available to travelers who have an e-passport and have pre-applied for an e-Visa.
What is the e-VOA?
It’s the same 30-day Visa on Arrival that you could previously buy at the counter, but now you apply and pay for it online before you travel.
- Cost: IDR 500,000 (approx. $32 USD)
- Validity: 30 days, extendable once for another 30 days.
How to Apply for Your e-VOA:

- Go to the OFFICIAL Website: The only official Indonesian immigration website is:
evisa.imigrasi.go.id - Beware of Scams: Do NOT use any other third-party site. They look official but will charge you significantly more.
- Apply: Create an account, fill out the application, and upload a copy of your passport (bio-data page) and a passport-style photo.
- Pay: Pay the IDR 500,000 fee online with a Visa, Mastercard, or JCB.
- Receive: Your e-VOA will be emailed to you within a few days (often within minutes). Save the PDF and its QR code.
Who Can Use the Autogates?
You can use the new fast-track autogates if you have:
- An e-passport (biometric passport with the chip symbol on the front).
- A pre-approved e-VOA or other e-Visa.
By having your e-VOA, you completely bypass the manual payment and immigration counters and head straight to the new autogates.
2. The Mandatory “All Indonesia” Digital Arrival Card (New for 2025)
This is the new, mandatory digital form that replaces the old paper arrival card and the Electronic Customs Declaration (e-CD). As of September 1, 2025, all travelers must complete this.
- What it is: A single, unified online form for your immigration, customs, and health declarations.
- When to Fill: Within 72 hours (3 days) before your flight.
- Cost: Free.
How to Complete the “All Indonesia” Card:

- Go to the OFFICIAL Website:
allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id(or download the “All Indonesia” app). - Fill in Your Details: The form will ask for your personal info, flight details, accommodation in Bali, and customs declaration (e.g., if you are bringing in alcohol, tobacco, or goods over $500).
- Submit: Once completed, you will be issued a QR code.
- Save: Screenshot this QR code. You will show this to a customs officer after you collect your baggage.
Important: The old customs website (ecd.beacukai.go.id) is no longer the correct form for Bali arrivals. You must use the new “All Indonesia” platform.
3. The Bali Tourism Levy
Since February 2024, every international visitor must pay a one-time Bali Tourism Levy.
- Cost: IDR 150,000 (approx. $10 USD) per person (this includes children).
- When to Pay: You can (and should) pay this online before you fly.
How to Pay the Tourism Levy:
- Go to the OFFICIAL Website:
lovebali.baliprov.go.idor download the “Love Bali” app. - Enter Details: Fill in your name, passport number, and arrival date.
- Pay: Pay the IDR 150,000 fee securely online.
- Receive: You will be emailed a QR code voucher. Save this to your phone.
While you can pay at a counter upon arrival, doing it in advance is faster and avoids another potential queue.
Your Step-by-Step Arrival Process at Bali Airport (DPS)
Here is exactly what to do when your plane lands.
Step 1: Walk to Immigration (Autogates)
Follow the signs for “Arrivals.” You will see two main areas:
- e-Gates / Autogates: (This is for you)
- Manual Immigration Counters: (This is for those without an e-VOA or e-passport)
Step 2: Use the e-Gate (Fast Track)

- Walk up to an available autogate.
- Scan the data page of your e-passport (not your e-VOA).
- Look at the camera for facial recognition.
- The gate will open. You are now officially in Indonesia. The entire process takes less than 30 seconds. No stamps, no questions.
Step 3: Collect Your Baggage
Proceed to the baggage claim carousels to get your luggage.
Step 4: Pass Customs
- After collecting your bags, walk towards the “Customs” exit.
- Have your “All Indonesia” Arrival Card QR code ready on your phone.
- A customs officer will scan your QR code. If you have nothing to declare (the “Green Channel”), you will be waived through.
- Note: You may also be asked to show your Bali Tourism Levy QR code at a checkpoint, so have it ready.
Step 5: Exit to the Arrivals Hall

You are now officially through! Find your driver, get a SIM card, or head to the official taxi stand. Welcome to Bali.
